Use Case Type Lab


Use Case Type Lab is the independent font foundry connected to State-Work Co, co-founded with designer Ollie Ennis. Use Case Type Lab is a contemporary type foundry with a unique approach/perspective in its design and operations. By implementing radical commercial models for end user pricing, we hope to make creative typefaces more accessible to students and young designers while challenging the conventional value of intellectual property on a larger scale. 2025 – WIP
Type Design



01. SW Grotesk
SW Grotesk is the primary brand font of State-Work. Its design is based on typical grotesques from the early 20th-century while also inspired by the hand-painted vernacular of factories and industrial signage.



02. Interior Documents WIP

Interior Documents is an irregular geometric sans serif with a contemporary lean. The design is a result of collaboration and a back-and-forth between extremely strict grid rules and playful whimsy. The name is a tongue-in-cheek reference to the artifacts and unique impressions that the typeface accumulated as Ollie and I passed the project back and forth and edited each other’s work.
